“As the national governing body for tennis in Canada, it is important for Tennis Canada to demonstrate environmental leadership. If we set a positive example that we understand our responsibility to the environment and are acting now, hopefully other sport entities will join the effort and reduce their carbon footprint. Partnering with Bullfrog Power is the right step toward reducing our impact on the environment.”

Michael S. Downey
President and CEO
Tennis Canada

Tennis Canada is committed to development by stimulating participation and excellence in tennis. One of the largest and longest-operating national sport associations in the country, Tennis Canada was formed in 1890 and is a full member of the International Tennis Federation.

Tennis Canada is responsible for all national and international competitions in Canada, including junior, senior and wheelchair championships. The organization also owns and operates the Rogers Cup tournaments, an ATP Masters Series event and a Sony Ericsson WTA Tier I competition.

Tennis Canada’s internal Green Committee, formed to addresses the organization’s environmental concerns and implement sustainability initiatives, has implemented an aggressive recycling program, reduced electricity consumption, internal composting and a strong environmental awareness campaign. Tennis Canada’s Toronto office has been bullfrogpowered since 2008.
