“The City of Mississauga is committed to protecting our environment and acting responsibly. Supporting a green power purchase with Bullfrog Power is a good example of this. We have to work together with all our partners to help keep the environment clean and sustainable for future generations.”
Hazel McCallion
Mayor
City of Mississauga
Home to more than 700,000 people and one of Canada’s largest and fastest growing cities, Mississauga is significantly reducing its annual electricity-related CO2 emissions footprint by bullfrogpowering its Civic Centre. The decision to sign on with Bullfrog Power is just one of several green initiatives headed by the City’s Environmental Assessment Committee (EAC). Some of its other environmental initiatives include installing an ammonia waste-heat recovery system in one of its arenas and installing a solar power generation plant on the roof of another. It has also converted incandescent traffic lights to energy-saving LEDs.
