Cohousing complex chooses green power
Calgary, June 4, 2008 — Bullfrog Power™, a leading Canadian provider of
100 per cent green electricity, today announced that Prairie Sky Cohousing, a housing cooperative with 18 residential units, has agreed to purchase clean, renewable power for its location in Calgary, Alberta. Prairie Sky Cohousing is the first cohousing complex listed on the bullfrogpowered Green Index.

Prairie Sky’s cohousing complex was built with sustainable construction practices. Superior attic and wall insulation and triple-glazed windows help prevent drafts and heat loss. The complex uses forced air heating and energy efficient appliances to save on energy costs. Dual-flush toilets decrease the complex’s water usage, and a centrally located “Give Away” shelf allows residents to share clothing and other household items.
